Tysons Corner Information
Tysons Corner is considered by many to be the "downtown" of Fairfax County, Virginia. Located between the community of McLean and the Town of Vienna in the heart of Northern Virginia, Tysons Corner is Fairfax County's central business district, with 46 million square feet of office space, the largest concentration in Northern Virginia. Tysons Corner is one of the largest business districts in the United States, home to the corporate headquarters of Booz Allen, Capital One, Freddie Mac, Hilton, SAIC, and USA Today, as well as numerous law firms, car dealerships, and technology companies of all sizes.
The "corner" of Tysons Corner (originally Tyson's Corner or Tyson's Crossroads, named after William Tyson, postmaster of the post office located there) is the intersection of Virginia State Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) and Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), formerly a quiet rural intersection.
Shopping opportunities in Tysons Corner are abundant. Tysons Corner Center is the largest shopping mall in Virginia and is one of Virginia's most popular tourist destinations. Upscale shopping centers are also nearby, including Fairfax Square and the ritzy Tysons Galleria. Every weekday, 55,000 shoppers from around Northern Virginia converge on the malls of Tysons Corner.
As important a business district as Tysons Corner is, Tysons Corner does not have its own mailing address or zip code. Most businesses located here use a McLean or Vienna mailing address, often leading to confusion. For example, while the 17-story Tycon Tower Building (known to locals as "the Shopping Bag Building" due to the resemblance) has a Vienna address, Tysons Corner Center, the mall located in precisely the same spot (right next door) has a McLean address. The reality is that Tysons Corner is located neither in McLean nor Vienna.
The attorneys at BerlikLaw have been providing legal services to businesses located throughout the region since 1996. Like most law firms located here, our law firm uses a McLean mailing address. The firm is actually located in the heart of Tysons Corner, on Greensboro Drive. Our Tysons Corner practice tends to focus on technology law, intellectual property, Internet defamation, and other high-tech issues commonly encountered by area businesses.
